  5. The release of SuperShow 6.0 is our
  6. most significant upgrade to date.  In
  7. addition to all the new features of
  8. SuperShow like support for True Color
  9. images (16.7 million colors),
  10. windowed .FLI/.FLC files, variables
  11. for control logic, etc., we have
  12. added and enhanced the series of
  13. tools that help you prepare your
  14. presentations.

  16. All the imaging tools can process
  17. True Color (24 bit, 16.7 million
  18. colors) images.  You may copy, crop,
  19. resize and print these images. The
  20. conversion utility in Super ToolBox
  21. also is able to convert your True
  22. Color images to 256, 16 or 2 colors.

  24. Now we will look at the tools in 3
  25. different areas; in the F4-Tools
  26. section of ShowPrep, The Super
  27. ToolBox, and the Extra Tools
  28. Supplementary Disk (available
  29. separately):

  35. 1.  Make Project:  Make Project is
  36. the tool that creates your runtime
  37. file for distribution.  This tool
  38. will search your script and create a
  39. runtime .EXE file while searching
  40. your script for all necessary image,
  41. font, flick, text and sound files;
  42. then copying them along with your
  43. runtime .EXE file to a separate
  44. directory.

  46. 2.  Extended Mouse Support: You may
  47. now use the mouse to choose from the
  48. menu bar while using the editor.

  50. 3.  FLI/FLC Preview:  With the
  51. addition of support of this animation
  52. format, we've added a preview tool.
  53.  
  54. 4.  Extended Program Hooks:  An
  55. extended program hook is really just
  56. a menu within a menu.  We know that
  57. you bounce back and forth between
  58. your favorite paint programs, sound
  59. editors, text editors, etc. and Super
  60. ShowPrep.  You may now access these
  61. programs right from the tools menu in
  62. ShowPrep.  And when you're finished,
  63. you are returned directly to where
  64. you were in ShowPrep.

  66. 5.  Context Sensitive Help: All the
  67. script commands are covered in the
  68. Help Feature of ShowPrep.  To pop-up
  69. help on any script command, highlight
  70. the command and press F1.

  77. 1.  Video Mode Display: This tool
  78. will show every video mode your
  79. graphics card is capable of showing.

  81. 2.  Gallery: Gallery is a utility
  82. that allows you to view snapshots
  83. (16 per screen) of your .PCX images
  84. in any directory on your drive.

  86. 3.  Full Color Printing: In version
  87. 6 you may print any image... 2, 16,
  88. 256, or 16 million colors to your
  89. line printer.

  91. ToolBox supports over 300 different
  92. printers, including color printers.
  93. With the printer setup you can resize
  94. your print out, rotate it, invert it,
  95. set up by pixels, inches or
  96. centimeters, print landscape or
  97. portrait, and locate it anywhere on
  98. the page.

  105. is a series of helpful, specialized
  106. tools and utilities.  Some are:

  108. 1.  PCX-Talker: This program is a
  109. sub-set of SuperShow which allows you
  110. to access the SBTalker voice
  111. synthesizer from Creative Labs.  With
  112. PCX-Talker you can show your PCX
  113. images using the SuperShow screen
  114. transitions while accessing the
  115. speech synthesizer.  You must have
  116. SBTalker to use PCX-Talker.  SBTalker
  117. comes packaged with every Sound
  118. Blaster card from Creative Labs.

  120. 2.  FLICVOC: This is a FLI/FLC player
  121. that gives you the ability to link
  122. and play any .VOC digitized sound
  123. file in the background while the
  124. animation runs.

  126. 3.  VOC2PC: A small utility that
  127. allows you to play .VOC digitized
  128. files through your PC Speaker.

  130. 4.  PCXHDR: Another small utility
  131. that will change video mode header
  132. information in a PCX file using a
  133. batch process.

  135. 5.  Alternate Editor:  SP5A.EXE is an
  136. alternate ShowPrep editor that allows
  137. for up to 5000, 78 character lines
  138. for a show script.  While there is no
  139. limit to the number of lines in a
  140. SuperShow presentation, the standard
  141. ShowPrep editor has a limit of 1500
  142. script lines.  The alternate editor
  143. does not have mouse capability, the
  144. editing commands are slightly
  145. different, and each line is limited
  146. to 78 characters.

  149. ║ Note: The GIF image format is not ║
  150. ║ capable of True Color. GIF has a  ║
  151. ║ maximum of 256 colors. Because of ║
  152. ║ this fact and because of royalty  ║
  153. ║ problems, we have dropped support ║
  154. ║ for processing GIF images.        ║
